Last updated: 14 August 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Lord Mayor of Liverpool’s Charity Appeal website.
By using this website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website.
1. About this website
This website provides information about the Lord Mayor of Liverpool’s Charity Appeal, the causes it supports, fundraising activities, events and opportunities to support the Appeal.
For the 2026/27 mayoral year, the Lord Mayor’s chosen charity is The Greenbank Project, registered charity number 513814.
References in these Terms to “we”, “us” or “our” refer to the organisation or organisations responsible for operating the Lord Mayor of Liverpool’s Charity Appeal website, as applicable.
2. Using this website
You may use this website for lawful, personal and informational purposes.
You must not:
- use the website for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its server or related systems;
- knowingly introduce viruses, malware or other harmful material;
- interfere with the operation or security of the website;
- attempt to extract or collect information from the website using automated means where this would cause disruption or breach applicable law; or

3. Information on this website
We aim to ensure that the information published on this website is accurate and up to date.
However, information about events, fundraising activities, beneficiaries, totals raised, dates, venues and other activities may change.
While reasonable care is taken when publishing information, we do not guarantee that all information will always be complete, accurate or current.
You should confirm important information with us directly where necessary before relying on it.
4. Donations
This website may provide links allowing you to make donations to the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal or its chosen charitable cause.
Donations may be processed by an independent third-party fundraising or payment provider. Where this happens, the transaction takes place through that provider and may be subject to its own terms and conditions and privacy policy.
We do not normally process or store your full payment card details through this website where payments are handled by an external provider.
Please check donation details carefully before confirming a transaction.
5. Refunds of donations
Charitable donations are generally voluntary gifts.
If you believe that a donation has been made in error, duplicated, made without your permission or for an incorrect amount, please contact the organisation that processed the payment as soon as possible.
Whether a donation can be refunded will depend on the circumstances, the payment provider’s procedures and any applicable legal or regulatory requirements.
Nothing in these Terms affects any rights you may have under applicable law.
6. Fundraising
If you undertake fundraising in support of the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal, you are responsible for ensuring your activities are safe, lawful and appropriately organised.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, individuals or organisations fundraising in support of the Appeal do not act as employees, agents or representatives of the Lord Mayor, Liverpool City Council or the chosen charity.
Fundraisers must not make misleading statements about their relationship with the Appeal or any beneficiary charity.
Additional conditions may apply to organised fundraising events, competitions, raffles, ticketed events or other specific activities.
7. Events
Information about events may be published on the website from time to time.
Event details, including dates, venues, timings, speakers and activities, may be changed or cancelled where reasonably necessary.
Where tickets, bookings or payments are handled by a third-party platform, the third party’s own terms may also apply.
Any event-specific terms provided during registration or booking will apply in addition to these website Terms.

- you have the right to provide that material;
- it does not infringe another person’s rights;
- it is not unlawful, defamatory, abusive or misleading; and

We may decline to publish or may remove submitted material where reasonably necessary.
Where content is submitted specifically for publicity or publication, we may ask for additional permission before using it.

To the extent permitted by law, we will not be responsible for loss or damage arising solely from:
- temporary website unavailability;
- reliance on information that has subsequently changed;
- third-party websites or services;
